dirt on the welcome mat

Tag Archives: moon

sticky night air
dream walks
drizzle doughnut glaze
over child thoughts
until the moon’s
hard honeycomb glow
hits glass jar sides
like fireflies
and escape seems
to drip soft from
the sweetest star

You are the moon,

The big, bright moon.

No one can reach you,

They are afraid of the distance in between.

Just keep reflecting the light

Don’t fight the sounds

That taunt,

Let the darkness absorb each one.

You can laugh as they echo

Off constellations,

You only deserve celebrations

As you orbit us all.

every time eyelashes meet
and bubbles pop
or sneezes
break
the counter-clockwise motion
of the moon
and constant
shuffling
of our feet,
something
past the pattern
of our veins
strains vision
through thin wires,
fires purify
the everyday
through unseen seconds
of light aspiring
with hot, invisible fingers
to sever
and solder

We are all cold steel magnets,

Stuck together,

Pulled like waves

By the moon.

Opposite poles attract,

React within.
