I choked on a fossil
In my Monday breakfast bowl.
That fundamental failure slid
From my spoon into my soul.
The artifact was floating
In the morning’s milky murk
The flaw I thought I’d buried
Was excavated, forever lurks.
I choked on a fossil
In my Monday breakfast bowl.
That fundamental failure slid
From my spoon into my soul.
The artifact was floating
In the morning’s milky murk
The flaw I thought I’d buried
Was excavated, forever lurks.

Ha! Cute poem. You have my sympathy if that happened to you. I had an experience worse than that, so awful that I hesitate to write it down. I’m trying to recover. My trust level has been violated on this subject. Blessings to you…

“Forever lurks”–I have a feeling that’s a layered phrase. Another great poem!

When one of my professors kept saying the phrase “fundamental failure,” I knew I was going to have to work it into a poem somehow…and I did during his class. 🙂
